SB 15 creates a secret “department file” for every police officer, shielding misconduct records from the Texas Public Information Act while still sharing them behind closed doors. This undermines accountability, erodes public trust, and protects officers from community oversight.

Government officials must be held to the same standards as everyone else. Tell the House Calendars Committee not to schedule SB 15 for a vote. Texans deserve transparency and reforms that build trust, not more secrecy.
