The Texas Senate committees on Congressional Redistricting is holding virtual hearings on redistricting, and we need your voice.

Mid-decade redistricting should not be used as a tool to entrench partisan power. Doing so only deepens the fractures in our already strained political infrastructure. Instead, this rare opportunity must be used to restore faith in representation by drawing district lines that keep communities together—geographically, culturally, and socially.

Texans deserve to be represented by someone who is truly a part of their community, not someone imposed upon them by gerrymandered borders drawn in the interest of party control.

The Libertarian Party of Texas believes that so long as government exists, it should act as a servant of the people, not a tool of political manipulation. Representation should reflect the consent of the governed, not the strategies of those in power.

This is our chance to reject further degradation and choose healing. Join us in attending the virtual hearings and submitting public testimony. Urge your lawmakers to support maps that unite—not divide—Texans.

Ahead of the hearings, contact the committee using the action button on this page and let them know that we do not support partisan redistricting, but instead support a restoration of community representation based on maps like 2196, 2217, 2226, 2242, 2248, and 2258. We don't have to redistrict, but if we do, we should demonstrate that Texas is still the great, free-thinking state that it once was by taking a step toward healing our world.
