📢 House Elections Committee Meeting – Thursday 3/13 @ 10:30 AM
The House Elections Committee will be meeting this Thursday, March 13 at 10:30 AM. LPTexas will be speaking in support of HB 496, which would add a “None of the Above” option to ballots—a step forward for voter choice and expression.
We are not opposed to any of the other bills being considered in this meeting. Here’s a quick look at what’s on the agenda:
- HB 429 – Clarifies how a voter or their child can read and mark a ballot.
- HB 496 – Adds a “None of the Above” ballot option.
- HB 640 – Sets office hours for election authorities during election periods.
- HB 657 – Requires counties to post election info online.
- HB 665 – Requires the Secretary of State to post election-related databases online.
- HB 677 – Defines restrictions on political activity for county elections administrators.
- HB 952 – Adds electronic coding to identify mail-in early voting ballots.
Stay tuned, and thank you for supporting voter empowerment! đź’›
