Demand A Hearing For SB 2197

Level the Playing Field for Libertarian Candidates
We’ve taken a big step forward—SB 2197 has been filed in the Texas Senate, and it’s a game-changer for equitable ballot access. Now, we need your help to take it the rest of the way.
SB 2197 allows convention-nominated candidates to pay filing fees to their own party instead of the State of Texas—just like primary-nominated candidates already do. This means Libertarian candidates could keep their campaign dollars within the party, helping grow our movement and support more voices for liberty.
Since the state began imposing filing fees on third-party candidates, we’ve lost dozens of potential candidates. We've been trying for years to repeal those fees but in case we can't make that happen, SB 2197 would at least put our candidates on the same playing field as the rest of the candidates on the ballot giving Libertarians a fighting chance.
